TextWrangler CommentaryGreat for Writers too - Version: 3.0, 8/25/2009 05:11PM PST

It's not only coders that can get benefit from TextWrangler. As a Journalist I use it for all my writing.
It's fast to open, easy to navigate and all that formatting nonsense doesn't get in the way of the free flow of ideas.
Thanks to Bare Bones for making it available.

New version seems good. FTP box looks different but works well. Will review after I've used it more.

TextWrangler is intuitive and powerful, very very grateful it exists. My boss is actually pleased with me today as I saved him hours of deleting line numbers by hand…

TextWrangler CommentaryNice, but broken on 10.4.7 / Intel Core Duo (MBP) - Version: 2.1.3, 8/21/2006 09:06AM PST

2.1.3 hangs when trying to open files via SFTP, requiring a force quit. Works just fine when using Fugu 1.2 as a helper app.

Text Wrangler is simple, If you need to write in a program in a certain library you select it turn on line #'s and go about your coding. Then if you so choose, copy paste to Xcode, or thats how i've been implementing it. I've seen a Run Command that will bring up the terminal for running C, but I haven't played with the funcition.
Try it its free how could you go wrong?

Doesn't get in the way with bells and whistles, but offers a ton of functionality when you need it. An excellent and versatile tool.

TextWrangler should not be free. It is worth money.

This is a very powerful editor.
I have been using search & replace with Regular Expressions and have been impressed.

I am a BBEdit user for the past 10 years or so. After I switched to OSX two years ago (late, I know), I kept starting Classic to use my old BBEdit. I never looked at TextWrangler because it was marketed as BBEdit "lite" and could quite afford an upgrade. What a mistake!

TextWrangler has absolutely everything I need for my development work (Java, SQL, HTML, C++). It handles my HUGE data files and makes short work of reformatting. The key (and I do mean KEY) feature of TextWrangler that puts it over the top is its handlely of FTP-based files. By far, this is the best implementation of this feature I have ever used.

Having used TextWrangler now exclusively for the past 6 months, I have nothing but praise for BareBones. Thank you from a very loyal user.

TextWrangler ReviewExcellent for those who don't want all of BBEdit - Version: 1.5, 12/10/2003 01:28AM PST

i'm a long time BBEdit and BBEdit Lite user but i needed the extra features TextWrangler had over Lite and didn't want to leech on getting a pirate s/w. $50 isn't much to pay. one of the most used apps on my computer, tremendous s/w. the save to FTP feature is almost worth the price alone.
