2get ReviewGreat for some uses - Version: 1.9.7, 1/29/2005 11:32AM PST

For connecting to private OpenNAP servers, this is simply the best Mac software. In some ways, I even prefer it over the popular WinMX on Windows.
I think people rate this software low because they do not understand how to use it. If you're trying to do normal P2P where you connect to a mass peer network, it sucks. If you have access to a private server with files based around what you are interested in, it is very fast and reliabe.
I have downloaded 60GB+ of music video files using this software, it's very useful.

2get ReviewSorry, but... - Version: 1.9.7, 8/3/2004 06:32PM PST

I know they are putting much effort into it but this is the WORST EVER P2P client ever released on this platform. Anything else will beat the pants out of this one.

People load masses from you but you can't get one single file. Slows down the machine hardly. No, no! There are better ones.

@kiff: Big problems with your spelling, writing and your mind?! And quite a lot spaces between words and punctuation marks! Ask VT for a job! Maybe, they need another sick bungler for coding their websites, you seem to have the same class.

you're right Roger ! Considering the time those guys had SO bad reviews, and the fact that P2P sadly (hope not!) begin to be in real trouble with the law, I'm wondering about the whole story..Maybe a young fellow suffering from sexual harassment by an old aunt of him and she says " Son, if you wanna be free from me , DO THAT PROGRAM, DO THAT PROGRAM!!!" ;)

2get CommentaryConsidering how long… - Version: 1.9, 4/2/2004 04:40PM PST

this little program has been in development, I was hoping that, after a year of not trying it, I would find it considerably improved. Well, it doesn't crash all the time anymore, but otherwise it's the same old quirky loser. These guys should start over.

2get ReviewEh..... - Version: 1.8.9, 3/24/2004 06:41AM PST

I've been using poisoned for a while and was looking around for something better and I tried 2get. While the interface needs some work. It's coming around. For me on my Mac, it seemed to run slow while none of the other apps seem to do that, kinda reminded me of Limewire a bit. After a search, and selecting my downloads it took me a while to figure out where I could see them, if they were downloading. Even trying to search confused me a bit until I realized I had to click on the new search button while brought up a new window. so multiple search can clutter up your desktop pretty fast. I noticed people could upload easily from me, but I couldn't download anything yet at this point. Currently, I'll stick with poisoned.

2get ReviewFair - Version: 1.8.9, 3/22/2004 08:11AM PST

Not the best, but it works. Not obvious how to control sounds (if possible), so minus some points. I like to run p2p apps in the background while working on other tasks, so this is a must. The interface could also use some work.

It's good to have a point to point transfer program like this which can interrupt and resume.

2get ReviewNo problems here. - Version: Lite 1.0.5, 2/25/2004 03:12AM PST

konrad1970
This refers to 2get Lite 1.0.6: I found no problems, crashes, bugs, anything of the kind. Running OS 9.2.2 on a blue G3. For some reason i can't review the Classic OS version here.

Everything is going smoothly, downloads are actually happening and they are listenable. One problem - some servers are telling me that I'm not sharing. I set the preferences to share from my iTunes Music folder, not the default one. Maybe it only sees the musicians' folders and album folders instead of the MP3's contained in them?

I'm getting more done here than on trusty old iSwipe, which only lets me d/l from Gnutella nowadays.

OK, so this programme doesn't have the kind of queuable wish list iSwipe has, but I have way more options - I can message servers, join channels, and most importantly, throttle uploads! My ISP has been complaining about this, especially with Gnutella.

despite the all the rants going on here, you can't deny the effort these guys are pushing. I gave it a try for the first time after about... i forgot the last time I tried, but anyway I have to say that a huge progress has been made. Interface is a lot better and all i have to say is that as long as it works in the future, it will join acqlite, poisoned, and limewire family. With all the ideas presented, it does look promising. Don't give up!
