Vicomsoft FTP Client ReviewGreat FTP Client - Version: 4.6, 4/1/2009 09:55PM PST

I've been using this FTP client for years and this update added a few features I would use occasionally. The new registration process is much cleaner and is probably the biggest difference for me. That being said, once you did it the old way, you really didn't need to fuss with it.

As a website developer, it's primary features work wonderfully. The sync feature works well syncing your local files to servers. I like the built-in support for BBEdit (or any text editor) since I'm inherently a "coder" and like to do tweaks here and there directly on the sever. (To answer the previous posters questions, you can change your editing app in the preferences.) Mundane tasks such as changing directory privileges are as easy as a control(right)-click. It's Mac-friendly interface and dual finder pane makes it easier to navigate through all your files that need to be uploaded. I would like to see buttons to quickly go back through your directory hierarchy, but is still easy to navigate.

Overall, FTP Client does what an FTP client should do.

Vicomsoft FTP Client CommentaryDoes not seem to support public key authentication - Version: 4.5, 11/16/2007 09:06AM PST

Maybe I am missing something, but I can't figure out how to use it with public key authentication. If that is so then I can't use it.

Some useful looking features such as synchronization. And the user can decide what double click will do (nothing, edit or download). But I see no obvious way to make sftp the default connection type.
