LipSync CommentaryTruly awful customer support - Version: 2.5.2, 6/12/2006 03:11PM PST

Like the other posters, I have to say that the customer support for this is just about the worst I've ever seen.

I paid for my copy, and tried to install it. It wouldn't take the registration codes and register correctly. After the demo period expired, it stopped working. Repeated emails to the author got absolutely no response. It's infuriating to pay for a piece of software that doesn't work; it's even worse to send some money for something that doesn't work, and then have them completely ignore you.

LipSync ReviewSupport is Non-existant - Version: 2.5.2, 1/11/2006 03:31PM PST

The product sort of works, but there is no one home to support it. The developer claims a new version is coming any day now, but I just don't see it happening.

Do Not expect this product to work for you

LipSync ReviewDO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!! - Version: 2.5.2, 8/19/2005 10:38AM PST

Do yourself a favor and don't by this product. Better yet, don't even try it. It doesn't work with Tiger. He touts a Tiger-compatible version on his website, but it doesn't actually exist. The only supposedly Tiger-compatible product is Excursion, but it's a demo version that has already expired and you can't get a registered version. There is zero, nothing, zip, nonexistent support from the developer. He makes himself like some big shot with sales, info and support email addresses, but when you call him, you get his voicemail at his other job, which he never seems to be at. He will never answer your emails, never return your phone calls, but gladly take your $45 to purchase the product. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

LipSync Troubleshooting Reportcant register - Version: 2.5.2, 12/10/2004 08:30AM PST

gadget007
Like many, this seemed a great product on the surface (and may well still be - I'll prob never find out).

So i paid up the $$ to register, received my code, installed - everything so far seemed fine.

But then I couldnt register. Not over the net, nor the 'manual' option.

So I emailed Kissworks for some assistance. Fat chance eh?

Has anyone had registration issues with the latest version, the version thats supposed to fix registration issues? Any work arounds ppl can suggest?

LipSync ReviewNot Quite Primetime - Version: 2.5.2, 11/2/2004 08:48AM PST

I used the LipSync demo for a month...and haven't been very happy with it.

I'm not thrilled that it can't sync with my Palm smartphone directly...instead it has to sync with Apple's Address Book and Calendar and iSync and such and then I have to sync iSync with my Palm to get the information on there...why couldn't it interface directly with Palm Desktop like Intellisync on the PC (which is a great program, btw)?

Plus, the syncing process is soooooooo...slooooooow...my last round of syncs never even finished processing.

I think I'll wait until version 3 comes out...hopefully by then the developer will have figured out how to do a direct Palm sync...

LipSync CommentarySupport - anyone out there? - Version: 2.0b17, 3/16/2004 05:04AM PST

Since last November I tried to get someone at Kissworks to answer to my mails. 10 times, 20 times, no trial key code, no answer at all. At last, I ordered a number by fax, nothing happened. I already thought, this company has disappeared from this planet, then a kollegue came over with a order confirmation number, he just has buyed one day before. Do I have a bad karma or what? But after I have read the other comments to this product I know that I am not alone...Although it doesn't makes me happy.
After inserting the registration code, it worked fine - but the way to this result was very annoying: 5 months!!!

LipSync ReviewPerhaps the single developer working on this is dead or “away” ? - Version: 2.0b17, 2/24/2004 02:10PM PST

I have requested a trial key in early January (2004) and never got it, never received any replies to my various mails either and we were promised a new version (beta?) late January, which still isn't here.

Anyway this B17 killed my .id file and I couldn’t connect to our server, so unless there’s activity again from KissWorks, I would recommend *staying away* from this, which is unfortunate because perhaps you really needed Notes <-> OS X synchronization (Apple? IBM? are you listening?)

LipSync CommentaryLack of support - Version: 2.0b17, 2/15/2004 09:50AM PST

I had requested a demo key to try this procuct to test it out before buying. Lucky I did that instead of buying it outright. The demo key listed on the web site has expired. I filled out the online form to request a demo key, but have not heard back from anyone. If this is the type of support you can expect before buying, I can't image what I would be stuck with if I purchased this product.

LipSync CommentaryMickey Mouse - Version: 2.0b17, 1/25/2004 07:26PM PST

This firm is so mickey mouse it's pathetic. I have never seen such completely difficult to use and buggy software. I cant beleive they are actually thinking of charging people at this stage... get it together guys. While I fully support under financed and small shops trying to fill a niche, this is a pretty bad effort thus far.
Probably a part time job for someone.....

LipSync CommentaryHas anyone managed to get replies from the author - Version: 2.0b14, 1/9/2004 03:50AM PST

(As a "paid customer") I reported problems and initially got a response. I spent a lot of time documenting the error and have sent these several times to the author and had no response or even acknowledgement. No other problems contacting or receiving mail from other outlets... Hate to post this sort of message but there is either a problem further up the turnpike or the guy has just moved onto other projects.
