to build something better than this since it has no foundation in reality in the first place. I'm an illustrator. Industrial design is what I specialize in. My work many times involves sci-fi. It's amazing how far some-people take an idea meant to be a joke or even "Just to look cool" and attach an entire back-story or reality to it. Additionally, if Trekkers don't like this app, it's O.K.. C'mon, If I see a movie and don't like it, I shouldn't say anything because I don't know how to Direct? I also program and have no interest in making an application that attempts to compute something that's in the first place highly illogical and not feasible.

Suggestion: Make it into a Preference Pane so not to take up Dock space and running an app. And I guess it would be cool if it was able to take over the sys. clock too like others suggest.

right. More specifically the star dates in STNG for example denoted the the season and episode number. I was going to point this out when I first saw this app but did not want to spoil the party...snazzyzeo did it first. It ain't real people, just technobable. There is no Sanctuary! for star trek says that there is no actual formula to figure out star dates, the numbers were just made up to coincide with each series (and then ascend as the series progresses), so i have no idea what possible formula this could be using.... interesting idea though... i guess the creator just made up some kind of algorithm to create dates
