Product Description:

InCatalog, a plug-in for Adobe InDesign, is a powerful and easy-to-use linking tool, creating transparent links between your documents and external data.

With these bi-directional links in place, you never have to enter or update your data in two places (documents and database), but can simply update one or the other from the most current version.

Linked elements can be moved between documents freely without loss of linkage.

You can use InCatalog to update any data like pricing, product descriptions, graphics--even change versions or swap languages. If you have different pricing regions, use InCatalog to swap the prices for each region.

Great plugin if you need it!

The ability to populate Indesign layouts with current copy, pricing and graphics directly from various data sources saves us thousands of hours of production time when building flyers and catalogs and greatly improves our accuracy.

I would not consider myself a competent InDesign consultant or trainer if I thought this plugin was anything like InCopy without trying it.

Easily worth the investment when I can do the work of 4 designers.

who thought the cost was ridiculous. And it's $1,200 for the Pro version!!! The Pro version lets you connect to an ODBC database (huh?). And doesn't Adobe InCopy do much of what this does, at least for text? As an InDesign user and trainer, I couldn't possibly imagine recommending this plugin, even if the company in question had more money then it knew what to do with it. Ok, maybe Microsoft. :) $1,200 for ODBC support? That really is insane.
