Product Description:

This program is design to disable the Mac OS X Dock for those users who do not like the dock. It has the ablitiy to enable/disable the dock by running the killdock program and pressing the right buttons.

    the system wants to spawn the Dock, it will do so. The system only looks in one place. Put it elsewhere. I put mine into the Applications folder and then made it a Login item so it would start once and give me my desktop picture and items. IIRC the Dock resides in /Sysem/Library/CoreServices. Login as Root and change. Once this is done any Applescript "telling" the Dock to Quit works. I gave mine a keystroke with Youpi Key. Alternately you can make your script a login item that comes after the Dock is started. From this point have the Dock show in your favorite replacement's apps application function. Sorry to make this a discussion group but I hate the Dock and love Youpi Key and Max Menus.

    in fact prevent the Dock from reappearing, at least in my case it does this by using up an insane amount of processing power and it never stops. Admittedly I'm running it on a lowly iBook 333 MHz, but still.... If it were to stop running as claimed this would be OK, but I've let it go in the background for some 10 or 15 minutes with no signs of stopping. As such this is completely useless.
