This program is excellent. After wrestling for about a half hour trying to delete WMP for Mac, I found this and it worked beautifully. Kudos

I made the mistake of dragging a Desktop DB file that somehow became visible on an external drive into the trash. The file disappeared and it refused to let the trash empty. TLF 1.1 fixed the problem in a couple moments. Thanks to the author of this great little utility. My problem is solved.
Once set up it worked a treat where nothing else would

I had a bit of trouble setting up Trash Locked Files because I couldn't input the registration key (that you have to email the developer for) on my Intel iMac. Support gave a number of helpful suggestions but it was only when I upgraded to 10.4.8 that it did input and then the application worked as it said. I had done eveything suggested on Apple's support site to get rid of some files in the trash (except single user start-up) but just got that message that I didn't have sufficient privileges....Trash Locked Files sorted that lot out with a click of the mouse.
Excellent - and it's free! So thanks very much.

Claims to be freeware, but when you run it, it pops up a dialog requiring you to register otherwise you will be in demo mode.
What a piece of junk --- first to expect someone to pay for something so simple, second to lie and claim it is freeware.

"The operation could not be completed because the file “” is locked." Doh!
