Product Description:

Access virtually any file on the Web!
Award-winning StuffIt Expander gives you access to virtually any file you download from the Internet or receive in your email. Expander can handle just about any type of file that comes your way, regardless of whether it was created on a PC or Mac, or travelled across the globe or around the block. And, Expander is easy to use - just drag, drop, and you're done!

What's new in this version:

  • Fixed a crash that occurred at startup when StuffIt's version checking code attempted to find an active network connection. This crash only occurred if no IPv6 address was available.
  • Fixed a problem with StuffIt Expander whereby an erroneous error message was being displayed after Expander had finished expanding an archive. This problem was being caused in a situation where the archive contained a single item and the "Continue to Expand..." preference was set.
  • Fixed a problem that some users encountered when, on expansion, StuffIt Expander attempted to create a surrounding folder that used a name longer that 31 characters.
  • StuffIt Expander and Dropstuff have been updated so that the prompt to enter a password, when either creating or expanding an encrypted archive, are now displayed as part of a drop down sheet on the progress window.

StuffIt Expander ReviewDirect Download of Expander 2009 and 2010 - Version: 13.0.1, 11/24/2009 05:31AM PST

Here is the link to get the latest versions of Stuffit Expander, 2009 and 2010, without providing an email: http://my.smithmicro.com/downloads/trials/expander_mac.html And for the record, even though I don't use the Stuffit program for creating files, I LOVE the expander. It has always been the best free expander, better than The Unarchiver (at least, the last time I used it) or Mac OS X's built-in archive handling. That is a fact. Just because you hate the proprietary .sit format is no reason to bash the expander, which is a multi-unarchiver. Even if the .sit format disappeared tomorrow I would still use Stuffit Expander, because I like the way it works when uncompressing .ZIP, .RAR, and everything except else. I don't even care about .sit. Comments about the regular Stuffit program don't even belong in this topic, but people keep ignoring the rules and posting here anyway, even though what they say is totally irrelevant. This is the kind of behavior that makes PC users call Apple users nutjobs.

"The Unarchiver" should be able to do most of what you need, but if you really need Stuffit Expander, here's a link to the current direct download (no email address required).
