Product Description:

Recipe Cleaner removes unwanted information from any recipe, and leaves behind a clean, consistently formatted recipe. Recipe Cleaner has special provisions for cleaning up MasterCook and Meal-Master recipes.

Recipe Cleaner creates a neat, uniform recipe, from the many badly written recipes available on the Internet. As an example: recipe quantities can be abbreviated many ways, Tablespoons for instance can be written as Tbsp, tbsp, T, TBSP, tbs., tbsp., tbsps, tbs, tbls and more... With one click of the button Recipe Cleaner goes to work replacing hundreds of words and characters to make your recipes look great throughout your collection.

Recipe Cleaner saves an unbelievable amount of time, and by removing unwanted text and reducing the recipe's content, it saves file size as well. If you have hundreds, or maybe thousands of recipes, this can really improve hard drive space and software performance. You can clean one or many recipes at a time (aprox. 30 recipes).

Here's what Recipe Cleaner doesn't do...
  • It doesn't directly import recipes files that have been exported from MasterCook and Meal-Master. However, you can paste them into Recipe Cleaner and make them ready to add to CookWare Deluxe.
  • It does not export directly to CookWare Deluxe.5
  • It does not clean Meal-Master recipes that have two side-by-side columns of ingredients.

Recipe Cleaner ReviewThis is supposed to be a DEMO...not an installer - Version: 2.2, 4/30/2006 04:12PM PST

Tracy Crider
This should have a link to a DEMO product, not a link to a checkbook! If you want to make a demo, then put up a QUicktim video of the product tested by using varoius poorly formatted recipes and let us see how they're cleaned. Including ones that contain 'square characters' that are not part of the Macintosh formatting but are part of the poorly designed software on the web 'Windoze'.

A video is a better DEMO than this.

Recipe Cleaner CommentaryCan't I at least try it? - Version: 2.2, 1/21/2005 02:33PM PST

The whole point of shareware is that you can try a program to see how well its main features work before you purchase it. But in this program, the thing this program is mainly supposed to be useful for is locked until we pay money! I wanted to find a program that could remove those ugly tags that result when I export recipes to text from Yum!, the program I use to organize my recipes. I drag a recipe into the box and hit "clean" only to have the program tell me that it won't do it unless I register? How do I even know it's going to work?

Try locking some other feature that is not essential to trying your program, like exporting files. Oh wait, that's locked too. Can this program do anything other than install and look pretty without me having to pay you? I can manage to view the help file and fiddle with the preferences, but every other feature is locked. When I read "some of Recipe Cleaner features have been disabled" hidden all the way at the bottom of the readme file, I didn't think you meant ALL of them!

Recipe Cleaner Developer NoteSpam filters - Important - - Version: 2.2, 7/13/2004 02:36PM PST

If your Internet Provider or email software allows you to filter email or block Spam- that's good! However, it also makes it easy to unwittingly trash important email - that's bad! This means that if and or isn't in the list of people that are allowed to send you email, your registration code, update info, or a technical support answer will never reach you. If you haven't received your registration password or the answer to your question, that's why.
