Dockless Usage TipDoesn't play well with X11 on 10.5 - Version: 2.0.1, 9/28/2008 07:31PM PST

This is X11.app's fault, not Dockless, but I found out the hard way that the new X11.app does not behave well when Dockless tries to make it dockless. For example, launchd launching no longer works.

I had used this previously to run the X11 server in the background, which I started on login on 10.4 and earlier.

X11 now "just works" whenever an X-windows program is launched. But the icon in the dock can be a bit irritating.

Dockless CommentaryVersion 2 won't run on my Mac - Version: 2.0.0, 9/21/2008 05:14PM PST

I've been using v1.3.3 for ages now, and it's always been great. But version 2 shows up with the circle/slash icon over it on my PPC iMac running 10.5.5. Not sure why it's "not supported on this architecture."

... is to download Dock Dodger. It deals only with individual applications which are dragged onto it's window.
