httpmail plugin Troubleshooting ReportMail doesn't come in? - Version: 1.52, 9/9/2008 04:36PM PST

I downloaded the plugin, and installed it, following all the instructions. However, once everything was all set up, I didn't get any e-mails on Mail. In fact, when I logged into hotmail on the website, I had stopped receiving e-mails all together. I then deleted my hotmail account in Mail, and I started getting e-mails in hotmail again (at hotmail.com). Why is this happening? How do I fix this?

I am having trouble contacting you

When I try to download my "sent" messages to MAIL the activity viewer shows they are downloading 15oo messages

However they dont seem to show up in the mailboxes window

Any thoughts on the matter

In times like these, it helps to remember that there have always been times like these.

httpmail plugin Troubleshooting ReportWebDAV NOT disabled by MS...YET! - Version: 1.51, 6/2/2008 11:41AM PST

Based on user feedback, MS decided to delay the disabling of WebDAV. Plugin was broken by 10.5.3 for me on my mac pro, so it looks like I'm going to need to move to gmail for a decent free email service.

The essence of HTTP mail is the ability to read my mail in Mail.app no matter where I am. I work from a laptop and most places besides my home ISP connection block POP and IMAP. This was the *only* solution. Sad. Not devastating, but an end to an elgant solution.

from sourceforge
As of June 30th 2008, my plugin will cease to function as Microsoft has decided to terminate HTTPMail (also known as WebDav) protocol access. They have replaced this protocol has been replaced by a new one called DeltaSync. Unfortunately DeltaSync is undocumented and uses non-standard compression and encryption of message data. Until these issues can be resolved there is nothing I can do to fix my plugin.

If you have a Hotmail Plus account you should still be able to access your mail using the POP3 protocol. The details for setting up POP3 access is as follows.

Incoming mail server: pop3.live.com (port 995)
Outgoing mail server: smtp.live.com (port 25)

Username: your full hotmail email address

NOTE: the outgoing mail server requires authentication
