Product Description:

Filters common advertisement urls via Perl-compatible regular expressions and prevents them from displaying in Safari. Fully customizable by editting a list of blocked urls.

What's new in this version:

  • compatible with Safari v60, v64, v67
  • content collapsing (images blocked by PithHelmet are removed from the document completely)
  • cross-site content blocking (loadings content only from the domainin the location bar)
  • Command+Shift+K turns off all of PithHelmet
  • Command+Shift+R reloads the current page with all of PithHelmet's rules temporarily disabled
  • preferences pane integrated into Safari
  • integrated rules editor (no more manual editting of the PithHelmet.plist)
  • test panel to help you build/test your own rules interactively
  • bug report button (tells me version of PithHelmet and Safari
  • new rules with versioning scheme for future upgrades
  • added timestamp and other info to the log file entries
  • old PithHelmet.plist will be backed up and a copy of the new rules inserted in its place
  • transmogrifier feature is finally fully functional
  • bonus preference panel checkbox to turn the Safari debug menu on/off with resorting to the Terminal or RealBASIC

Would it seriously kill the dev to mention somewhere on the dev's site or somewhere... anywhere... that PithHelmet works fine with Safari 4.0.4??

I mean... this app IS for Safari, riiiiight???? Grrr..... I'm starting to regret the fact I donated money for this app.

OS 10.6.1, Safari 4.03
Pithhelmet 3.0b2 downloads, unpacks and proceeds to install "for all users".

Safari starts automatically, but there is no Pithhelmet tab in the preferences window, and ads are not blocked. Tried re-installing three times with similar effects, and no Pithhelmet installed, apparently.
