I don't know why they posted this (and please correct me if I'm wrong), but they have version 2.10 at Linksys website for this model. Was also able to update using Safari just fine (though there is no status indicator).

Neo Hack boosts coverage of WAP54G - Version: 2.06, 1/29/2004 05:35AM PST

I installed the alternative Neo firmware (version 1.0, dated July 2003) on my Linksys AP, and as promised it fixed a coverage problem. This firmware (which is, unfortunately, based on an older Linksys firmware) boosts output from 22mW to 84mW. (It won't quadruple the coverage of course...)
It's available here: http://www.seattlewireless.net/index.cgi/WAP54G
Maybe worth a try!

Linksys, please post for older products... some of us can't afford to have cutting edge and it took days to finally find the firmware upgrade for the WAP 11 (thank you linksys tech support for stepping up to the plate). For anyone interested, it is at http://linksys.com/download/firmware.asp?fwid=176
