Product Description:

Quickly store, organize, and access snippets of information without having to save them as entire documents...

Be more productive.
iClip helps you save time and be more efficient with most everything you do on your Mac. Store various types of clippings in iClip's bins and access them whenever you need them. You'll improve your workflow and stay focused on what you're accomplishing.

Access instantly.
iClip stays out of your crowded Dock. You access it via a menu that's available in every application. Get to your information the second you need it.

Avoid repetition.
With iClip, you avoid redundant typing, such as when filling out web forms. If you regularly complete forms like search engine submissions, etc., then iClip is perfect for you. You'll eliminate repetitive typing and typos by storing your commonly accessed info in iClip. You'll be pleased with the time you save and the mistakes you prevent.

Take note.
There's hardly a faster way to take a note than with iClip...just click and type.

Stay organized.
Arrange your clippings into groups so you can quickly find what you're looking for. There's even a special group that automatically records everything you copy to the Clipboard, for even more efficiency.

What's new in this version:

  • when switching to the Clipboard Recorder, iClip now automatically scrolls to the end of the clipping set if new clippings are to be stored at the end of the set
  • the order of the clippings in the Clipboard Recorder are automatically reversed when you change the preference to store the new clippings at the start or end of the clipping set
  • pop-up preview windows now close when appropriate (when the iClip window is hidden, moved, resized, or zoomed)
  • pop-up preview windows no longer stay open when a clipping bin is double-clicked
  • iClip now asks to see if you'd like to store an alias to a file dragged & dropped to a clipping bin when it can't copy its contents to the bin
  • naming and renaming Internet address clippings has been improved for better compatibility with other applications

iClip CommentaryiClip no more working under 10.6 at all - Version: 4, 10/22/2009 05:47AM PST

Having used iClip for years, it's a real pitty. Developer who was really responsive and interested seems to have lost any and all interest in the program by now.

iClip Reviewupdate - Version: 4, 11/28/2008 01:40PM PST

several things:

1: iClip is back. despite the complaints on here about iClip being unsupported, i got a response today from the developer (reasonably prompt, that) and, long story short, the crashing problem i was having turned out to be a corrupt plist file that i couldn't find for some reason (i guess i only searched with Spotlight, which deems searching ~/Library/Preferences to be beneath it). i tossed that file and all is well with iClip again...provided you overlook the overwrought UI.

2: thank you for the recommendation, epc; i've now installed PTH Pasteboard and am giving it a try, and as an iClip user, i see why you recommend it. i can even set it up to behave much like iClip, hot-key-wise - i have iClip set to pop up with Command-Option-Control-i, and PTH Pasteboard with Command-Option-Control-p so i can use both; if i prefer PTH i'll migrate to it altogether.

3: i'm not as sure about Keyboard Maestro as many of the other people reviewing it. but that's a matter for Keyboard Maestro's VT page.

Have you tried PTH Pasteboard?
Now I own 5 pasteboard applications, and PTH Pasteboard is the one I use every day.
iClip 3 was really good, but it all went downhill with iClip 4.
PTH Pasteboard has not failed me. I use a variety of clipboards, and assigned 500 items to my main clipboard. Can't complain.
