iClip ReviewCrashes, Abandonware - Version: 4, 4/29/2008 04:12PM PST

I agree with the negative reviews below. This was a decent product, and would be if the developer would maintain it and fix the bugs.

However, I've had the same crash bug since I paid for it a year ago, have contacted the developer several times, and he's shown no real interest in fixing it. Apparently there are other unfixed bugs (no update since the initial 4.0 release).

At this point, I've stop using iClip, consider the $29 a loss, and would never buy another product from this developer.

iClip CommentaryEats memory at 12 MB / second - Version: 4, 3/21/2008 08:04PM PST

I updated my system software yesterday, an incremental change to 10.4.11, and now I find that iClip is stunningly unusable. (I don't know for shure if the update is related, but the coincidence is certainly odd.) Upon launching iClip, it uses all available processor cycles and sucks up RAM at the rate of about 12 MB per second, apparently without limit. Soon there is a large bump in the virtual memory as well. I don't know what happens if this continues without limit. the application does not respond to the keyboard shortcut and there is no dock icon so the only way to kill it is to use Activity Monitor. Bummer. I rather liked iClip, even though it never displayed RTF text.

iClip CommentaryThis is becoming a trend with a certain group of developers... - Version: 4, 2/29/2008 08:17AM PST

Unfortunately, there is a group of young developers that hype up their applications, release them to the community and then they disappear. Off hand I can think of a few applications that this has happened with:

Disco, Appzapper, iClip and Menuet.

Ah, don't forget 'My Dream App', what has become of all those applications? Absolutely Nothing! These develpers don't even update thier website for these app's.

I am disappointed that I have fallen for these schemes one too many times. These developers take our money and move on to the next big app they can swindle us into buying.

I am going to be more careful when purchasing new applications in the future.
