LameBrain CommentaryProject is dead... - Version: 0.6.1, 12/26/2007 10:41AM PST

decadence

From author's own website: "I lost interest. I didn't use the application myself."

After hunting around, I recommend anyone looking for properly tagged Lame encoded MP3's use iTunes-Lame Encoder (now on Google code and open source after Alcor also lost interest).

I have also used/tested Audion (PPC only, also dead) and Max (great encoder, lousy tagging) and XLD-GUI (absolutely toxic).

LameBrain Troubleshooting ReportProblems saving settings? - Version: 0.6.1, 11/15/2004 04:15PM PST

I liked using this program except that it seemed to just ignore adjustments made to the settings. For instance I set it to not eject the cd after ripping. Saved the preferences. Re-opened the prefs pane and the Eject CD button was checked again. Same after restart. This was also a problem in that it just would not rip in full stereo no matter what I set it to (both with the pulldown menus and using the command line). I'm not sure if I installed it wrong or something (being a recent convert from pc to mac), but damn that's annoying.
