Stay away from this application until this developer fixes the menus. The last 2 releases have the main Soundconverter menu is half blank. You can't even close the application. You have to force quit it on Tiger PPC

i've bought soundconverter 3 times, for 3 different macs. am on a new macbook (my previous powerbook died), and emailed the developer to see about at least considering giving me a new license for this mac...and never heard back. even a 'no' reply is better than no reply! disappointing...

Is this really an OS 10.4 fix or a anti-pirate fix, or both, just curious.

Oh course I always buy my copies of software cause everyone should get paid for a job well done, and not get paid for crap, but I really hate downloading software that is just trying to keep up with the Torrent sites. It appears that's what most of the updates are geared toward anymore, so it becomes a pain in the ass to everyone. The maker of the software and the people who by it and have to take time out to download the update. I spend hours a day doing this.

Just be honest and say this update fixes bugs or is just to fight pirates. Then the people that paid for it won't have to bother and the pirates won't either. Pirates can always fall back on their cracked copy or wait for a new crack, which takes a day or two.

I say keep the price so low that people will buy a copy and if it's good software you'll make big bucks on bulk sales. It's the costly software that saturates the trackers.

Then you can turn your creative talents into making money.

That's what I would do.

SoundConverter CommentaryMachine Specific Licensing Sucks - Version: 20080418, 4/20/2008 11:09PM PST

At least the developer tells you this, but I'd rather pay more, and not have such harsh licensing tactics as I hate software with this form of licensing:

Licensing Specifics

This makes SoundConverter a "no-go" for me...too bad.

This App is far away of at the most beeing BETA. FLAC-to-AppleLossless conversions use an "own" TAG-standard so iTunes could not add CD-covers. What a shame the GUI is great and much better than MAX or SoundGrinder. DONT BUY!!!!!

I bought this product for the simple task of converting large .wav files to either mp3 or aac files. I was used to doing this in iTunes and I thought this product would be easier and faster to use.

Was I wrong! iTunes typically took 90 seconds to convert my 50 MB wav to an AAC. I just started bought and tried SoundConverter and it is still going on the same file after 10 minutes!! Also there is no way to change the output to MONO in an AAC file.

The outputted file is also about 5 times as large as the file iTunes would have output

DO NOT BUY!!!

Every version of this product has been reviewed and it has been panned almost exclusively regardless of the version.

Despite numerous warning on file, unsuspecting users continue to purchase this product with zero positive results.

When the negative reports mount, there is a sudden and suspicious flurry of unspecified positive reports that are inevitably followed by more complaints.

This product does not function as advertised and buyers have many options to choose from.
