Product Description:

Big Medium is a web content management system (CMS) aimed squarely at web designers. It has all of the features you should expect of a CMS (version control, workflow, search engine, content syndication, granular editing privileges, Unicode support) but also lots of grace notes for content sites: Pullquotes, image galleries, podcasts, scheduled publication, visitor comments, a WYSIWYG CSS style editor and other goodies.

Big Medium 2 is geared for designers who want a CMS that enables extremely flexible designs but remains easy to set up without programming skills. The software does not impose cookie-cutter layouts: If you bring basic to intermediate HTML/CSS know-how, Big Medium can manage just about any design you throw at it.

Once the designer configures the templates, he or she can hand the site over to content editors; no technical know-how is required to add or edit pages. Big Medium's friendly, humane interface is easy and non-threatening for CMS newbies. Enter your text, images, podcasts and document downloads into Big Medium's editor, and the software automagically adds the necessary links and pages to your site.

Big Medium is a Perl application that runs on web servers running Mac OSX or other Unix flavors (and Windows, too). Big Medium's modest server requirements allow you to install it in nearly any hosting environment.

Big Medium is $185 per server installation (each install can manage an unlimited number of sites and user accounts, no extra fees). It's free to try for 30 days, and it's also a free upgrade for all current Big Medium customers.

What's new in this version:

The new version shares Big Medium's original spirit of friendly, humane software, but it's otherwise a whole new application from the ground up. The new interface is polished and elegant, and the features go deep. Here are just a few of the highlights from the 100+ new features in Big Medium 2.0:

I've been using BM2 in production since the early beta stages. It's rock solid, endlessly customizable, plug-in-able...
Support is amazing, and I have yet to see a developer more responsive.

I now build websites in hours, not days, ad have computer unsavvy clients happily updating their own sites.
