XFile Reviewyeah, but... the quality is good... - Version: 1.0, 9/24/2006 11:11PM PST

Well, I just compared it to Genuine Fractals 4 and the new Alien Skin $200 thing, and it bettered them both. The only thing I've found any better is designed only for the particular sensor of my particular camera. For $50, this is a steal...

I would like to warn everybody before they did like I did and buy this product.

It is not what it looks like. You would think there is a reason why they don't offer a demo/trial version of this software, and there sure is: it simply sucks. Pardon my French, but the resizing results are only marginally better than what you would achieve with Photoshop alone. Not worth the money at all.

Even the handling is bad: You would expect a PS plug-in to come up in a new window where you do all the editing, then click "Apply" or "Save" to get back to your Photoshop document which now shows the changes made by the plug-in, right? Not so here: You call up the plug-in, and then you can only save the altered image as a TIFF file, which you would have to load into Photoshop again if you want to make further changes. Duh??

PLUS:

They have never heard of "customer service". I emailed them twice about my complaints and asked for a refund, never got a reply. Definitely not a company I will buy anything off again.
