CiphSafe ReviewLooks great! - Version: 1.3, 8/23/2008 10:31AM PST

I searched around and tried many different tools to store my password. I chose this one from all of them!! It's simple, which is a good thing. It's lightweight. And the thing I liked the most was the ability to search quickly.

I am trusting that it uses OpenSSL in a secure way. It would be great if a third party can comment on the implementation of the security.

CiphSafe ReviewRock solid! - Version: 1.2.1, 2/19/2007 11:43AM PST

I've used CiphSafe everyday for years now and I'm very satified with it. I've never had it crash and never lost any data, which to me, in an app like this is the most important thing. It's fast, simple and a breeze to use.

I haven't tried the beta/Intel version yet but I'm looking forward to it... However, I'll probably wait until it's out of beta.

I've used this app for a long time, and today went searching for an Intel native version. There is actually a beta of v1.3, which is Intel-native. You can get it from http://ciphsafe.sourceforge.net/.

I've used this beta for about an hour and it seems great; much, much faster in operation on Intel than the old v1.2.1.

CiphSafe ReviewCiphSafe data export - Version: 1.2.1, 11/2/2006 09:59AM PST

I've been using this for years and have a pretty large database now.
It's a great little app, but I too am a bit nervous about how compatible it will be
in the future. It would also be nice to be able to export in a standard format. (rather then copy/paste)..

CiphSafe CommentaryPlease add an export feature!! - Version: 1.2.1, 4/11/2006 02:02AM PST

I too love this little app... But I echo others here by pleading for an export CSV feature. Getting very nervous about how future proof my entries are.

CiphSafe CommentaryCiphSafe's future of concern - Version: 1.2.1, 3/31/2006 02:23PM PST

I've been using CiphSafe for many years - probably since it was first released and have depended on it as reliable, troublefree and secure. I'm now extremely concerned about the future of the Application. It appears that the author, Bryan Blackburn, and his Web site <http://www.withay.com> have vanished! Apple will be releasing a new OS either later this year or early next year. I'm fearful that if one forgets to manually copy their data from CiphSafe before they upgrade they (me) will loose all the passwords and other data that has been saved over the years.

Does anyone have a suitable replacement program that is still being maintained and will remain viable for the foreseeable future?

CiphSafe ReviewI love this little app - 3 (or 4?) years now! - Version: 1.2.0, 2/17/2006 08:10AM PST

use it ALL the time - have for, what, 4 years now? currently using on 3 machines - copy file to all - ver. 1.2.0 works solidly on Tiger. keep 200 passwords in it - and growing! simple and functional interface - even keep client contact info (hosting accounts) in it!

CiphSafe ReviewUseful and small - Version: 1.2.1, 1/10/2006 06:18AM PST

Small app which is great and seems dead solid too. I only wish you could export as a CSV file though. Would make me feel a lot happier about spending time inputting all my data.

CiphSafe ReviewThe best of it's kind... - Version: 1.2.1, 12/10/2005 01:35AM PST

I've used this app everyday for a couple years now. It's very solid, never crashes, works perfectly with OS updates--all of which is exactly what you need when depending on it to store hundreds of passwords and other private info. Another feature that is great: you can paste tons of info into the notes.
