Buggy, and not worth the money.

If you want a decent pasteboard client try PTH pasteboard. Not only is it better, it's free.

shadowClipboard CommentaryCould not get this app to work - Version: 3.0.4, 11/1/2006 10:28PM PST

cb0--2008
This app appears very flaky in my environment.

Downloaded after clicking on alternate feed.
Installed as user in admin group
launched .dmg and copied folder to to ~/Applications
Read release notes, etc and launched app
After long delay, got the Preferences panel; exited without changes
Next launch yielded error message.
Uninstalled, logged out, emptied trash, reinstalled, app will not launch at all now.

While I miss version 2's presentation of temporary and stored clips in a split pane, the many improvements of version 3 must be acknowledged (and appreciated). Very nice, and $8.00 to upgrade is well worth it.

No longer crashes when Little Snitch denies connection. This was my only concern with this otherwise superb application.

shadowClipboard ReviewI liked it before and I still like it - Version: 3.0.1, 9/25/2006 03:30PM PST

I have used the previous versions for years. I just downloaded and installed this latest version about a week ago. It still works flawlessly. I like the new feature that shows a drop down window or preview box when you mouse over the clipboard contents. Using this feature allows me to copy, for example, a dozen or more lines of text. Then if I just want to use part of this text I mouse over the content of that particular clip and when the drop down preview window appears with all of the text, I can copy just some of it right from the preview window. This creates another clip I can use to paste. I also like the multiple clipboard setup. I created 3 clipboards and I can select the one I want and paste from it. I can also send items from one clipboard to the other. Considering the price of good software that never fails to work properly, $15 for ShadowClip is a Bargain!

shadowClipboard ReviewThis is the ideal clipboard management tool - Version: 3.0.1, 9/25/2006 02:04PM PST

I've used Shadowclipboard since version 1.x. It's now up to version 3, and it has gotten better and better all the time. I tried every clipboard management tool I could find, and time after time, Shadowclipboard has emerged as the best choice. It is the easiest to setup and configure, invoke, and paste from. It is the ultimate in simplicity. Also, it has always worked flawlessly. Over the years, I've updated it and found the response time to be virtually instant whenever I've contacted the developer.

If you feel the need for an advanced clipboard manager, you owe it to yourself to give this one a look. Good luck!

shadowClipboard ReviewGreat app! - Version: 3.0.1, 9/22/2006 02:25PM PST

Version 3 leaves the old versions in the dust. It appears to be a complete rewrite, with all of the original functionality and then some.

I've read the other comments about licensing, but I don't mind paying for a job well done, especially on a complete rewrite. Maybe adding a EULA will appease the others, I dunno.

Great app! Web site has active forum, and fairly prompt turnaround on any issues.

After trying the new version of this package. (ShadowClipBoard 3.1. There were several things that made me revert to re-installing the prior version. ----- Reading the current reviews **** The User interface not as smooth ++++++ an upgrade fee for registered users. I might suggest the author think about withdrawing this release. For sure this has left a bad taste and I will be very hesitant about trying any new release after this one.
I will continue to use ver 2.4 as long as I am able it is solid for me. Some time ago I left a feedback to that effect. Submitted for what it is worth, others are free to disagree.

shadowClipboard ReviewDissapointing... - Version: 3.0.1, 9/21/2006 03:52AM PST

After waiting over a year for the version 2 bugs to be fixed, and promised features version "3" finally gets here, and asks me for a reg key as if I hadn't already registered it. Come to find out I have to pay for this version too. How about fixing the problems with version 2 and said promised features before charging your users again? I read the links posted in here and the author seriously needs to rethink his strategy.

As far as the application goes. It's a great app. Works well. He is a good programmer. I love all the new features.

My only question is, is 4 going to be the same way? Are we not going to get all the 3bugs fixed before 4 comes out? And then have to pay more? I sure hope not. Version 2 was a big disappointment in that way.
