Does the Deed on Safari 1.0

Hurrah! Stripped that hideous metal right off Safari again. I had to use this cos Metalifizer (APE module for Unsanity's Application enhancer) is somewhat incompatable with Quicktime 6.3 - it causes the Finder to report as 'not running' on login, when it is (I think this is an Apple issue, not Unsanity's).
Thanks for the tip - Version: 1.22, 6/24/2003 10:44PM PST

Thanks for the tip, I'll try to make a new version with permissions checks ASAP (quite busy at work currently so I don't have much time)

For those of you seeing the 'can't copy 'xxx' file' error, it is due to a permissions problem with the application; i.e., if the Safari installation is owned by 'system', and not the current user (admin or otherwise), SafariNoBrush will return the aforementioned error. The solution is to login as root and rerun the application, or, or, simply duplicate the Safari Application and run SFNB on it, or, not as safe, change the permissions using Get Info for the folder Safari->Contents->English.lproj and its entire enclosed contents. I do not advise the latter. The difference in experience for those who are successful, and not logged in as root appears to be the difference between dowloading the standalone installer and using Software Update; SU sets ownershipt to root (system), while the standalone seems to set ownership to the user (or at least allows others to Read & Write). I made a copy of Safari, and the patch was successfully applied to it. Deleted original copy and renamed new one. A little weird, but worked.

Also received the "Can't copy 'browser' file (English.lproj)" error. However, it worked fine on my office computer.

those lovers of "metallic" interfaces enjoy the fact that you can't tell that a metallic window is in the background or the foreground.
