Concorder Pro is an astoundingly capable application. It generated a concordance listing all instances of every word in a 160 page book in probably less than two seconds. Not only does it show the frequency of occurrence of each word, it also will show you the *context* -- i.e, a *lot* of surrounding text -- in which that word occurs. And, it also does the latter like lightning! // In addition, and equally fast, it will create a simple word list of every word in the text (without the occurrence frequency or the "lookup" function). // The creator may think the code is suboptimal, but the level at which this app works is phenomenal. Not only will it generate the concordance for a lot of text in seconds, it will find and display instances of the word *much* faster than major applications costing hundreds of dollars -- *after* the other app has created its own index. // I found only one seriously insignificant flaw; for some reason, while it will "Save" a word list, the "Save" and Save As" commands don't seem to work when you've generated a concordance. However, exactly the same result as "saving" is accomplished by using the "Export" function. // Of course, there is the little matter of price . . . Oh yeah, IT'S FREE!
I would like to try... - Version: 1.0, 6/9/2006 10:01AM PST
