Apple Server Admin Tools Commentarywhat changed between 10.5.6 and 10.5.7 - Version: 10.5.7, 5/27/2009 09:15AM PST

dbeatty
Server Admin Tools 10.5.7 is available in Software Update, but its description there links to a Apple kb article from last month that describes 10.5.6 instead.

Apple Server Admin Tools CommentaryNote "About Server Admin" says 10.5.3 - Version: 10.5.5, 9/20/2008 07:51AM PST

kleeberg
You may not need to download. It is a known issue that this version says 10.5.3 in the about box or get info. However it is build 279.1.1 and not 279. See the Apple Discussion Post: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1714004

Apple Server Admin Tools ReviewNot Monitoring Tiger Server 10.4 - Version: 10.5.5, 9/16/2008 12:34PM PST

Server Monitor is giving me a 'waiting for response' on 10.4.11. The Workgroup Manager and the Server Admin both work, but if you're looking to use all the features, apparently you need to be running Leopard server.

I'd like to give it full stars, but can't.

This update fixes the bug that caused Server Monitor to report "Waiting for response" when attempting to monitor an Xserve running Mac OS X Server 10.4.

Apple Server Admin Tools ReviewUnbelievable crap - DO NOT INSTALL B4 BACKUP of old Version !!! - Version: 10.5, 11/20/2007 02:44AM PST

Sad to say this - but what the heck was Apple thinking ??? Nothing at all I guess. Oh don't get me wrong this Leopard Server Admin Tools look quite nice and might be a real improvement over the old ones - BUT if you install this new Tools - let's say on your Support-MacBookPro (needs Leopard) THEY DO OVERWRITE YOUR OLD 10.4 TIGER TOOLS !!! The new 10.5 Tools DO NOT WORK with your existing 10.4. Servers ! And you cannot install the old Tiger Tools anymore on your Leopard Mac (also not the just released Server Admin Tools 10.4.11). By the way the new Leopard Server Admin is crashing. Apple Support told me I could partition my Mac and have an old 10.4.11 System next to my Leopard partition and boot from either one to be able to configure my old and new Servers concurrently... DEAR APPLE - what where You thinking - this smells terribly like a microsoftian approach to things - unbelievable ! Go FIGURE & DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT !!!
(otherwise this new Xserve with LeoServer is pretty nice and fast ;-)

Apple Server Admin Tools CommentaryWhere is the original, Apple? - Version: 10.3.5, 8/10/2004 11:53PM PST

I am looking for the software to update. Apples Softwarepages are a mess... I even cannot find the "Server Admin Tools", quasi the base package to install and update. So how can I install...

http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n108028

And the above link from the installer leads to a page "not found".

Apple, please try a bit harder to be professional, thanks

Apple Server Admin Tools Troubleshooting ReportI got it to install - Version: 10.3.5, 8/10/2004 02:11PM PST

I got the same message saying the update could not be installed as my computer neve met the requirements.

So I deleted my server admin folder, and then reinstalled the admintools completely then applied the 10.3.5 update and it worked like a charm.

I have an iBook G4 with 10.3.5 loaded that we use to admin our XServes and this will not install. The readme says all that's needed is OS X 10.3.5, and I have that, but I get a message stating my volume does not meet the requirements.
