Product Description:

MenuMeters is a set of CPU, memory, disk, and network monitoring tools for MacOS X. Although there are numerous other programs which do the same thing, none had quite the feature set I was looking for. Most were windows that sat in a corner or on the desktop, which are inevitably obscured by document windows on a PowerBook's small screen. Those monitors which used the menubar mostly used the NSStatusItem API, which has the annoying tendency to totally reorder my menubar on every login.

The MenuMeters monitors are true SystemUIServer plugins (also known as Menu Extras). This means they can be reordered using command-drag and remember their positions in the menubar across logins and restarts. MenuMeters is open source freeware released under the GNU General Public License (GPL).

MenuMeters ReviewWonderful! - Version: 1.3, 12/14/2009 10:00AM PST

I've been using MenuMeters for years, can't live without it. Quick glance at the transmit/receive speeds give me a clue real quick when my DSL modem gets stuck and halves transmission speeds, quick verify with a speed test site like 2wire.com and I'm powering down/up the modem (every few months) and things are back to normal. Just knowing the cpu workload, disk I/O activity, used/free ram makes for a very nice, comfortable Mac environment. 10 Stars!

It's hard to overestimate how useful this utility is, and the developer has responded quickly and surely with every curve ball Apple has thrown at him, this time getting it all to work in 10.6.2 and in my new iMac.

Oh thank goodness this is back working! I thought since it wasn't updated previously for such a long time it would not be updated, but here we are! After 10.6 broke it, it is now working perfectly - I'm only interested in the Network display!

Thank you!
