Product Description:

MenuMeters is a set of CPU, memory, disk, and network monitoring tools for MacOS X. Although there are numerous other programs which do the same thing, none had quite the feature set I was looking for. Most were windows that sat in a corner or on the desktop, which are inevitably obscured by document windows on a PowerBook's small screen. Those monitors which used the menubar mostly used the NSStatusItem API, which has the annoying tendency to totally reorder my menubar on every login.

The MenuMeters monitors are true SystemUIServer plugins (also known as Menu Extras). This means they can be reordered using command-drag and remember their positions in the menubar across logins and restarts. MenuMeters is open source freeware released under the GNU General Public License (GPL).

MenuMeters ReviewIsn't working well on Intel Machine - Version: 1.3, 4/15/2009 02:55PM PST

First, I've been using this little pref. pane for years on various machines. Upon upgrading the memory in my latest machine -- a MacBook Pro -- I started to see an incorrect free memory count. MenuMeters doesn't recognize that the machine has 4GB of RAM. It tops off at 3GB for some reason. I still find MenuMeters useful for other stats., but no longer for memory count.

MenuMeters ReviewBest little meters in all of Macdom. - Version: 1.3, 3/2/2009 01:14PM PST

I can't live without these. I've grown so accustomed to them, whatever would I do if I had give them up? Hopefully they'll be with us as long as there are Macs. At a glance I can see how my RAM is doing, my CPU load, whether or not anything is accessing my Mac on the networks, and whether there is any disk activity going on. Further, by clicking on any meter, I get a full report. They are excellent. Use them.
