This product is definitely greater than its constituant parts. While I didn't give any category a high rating -- "Sync E -> AB" does what the developer set out to do. Additionally, thanks to Paul B.'s excellent tech support (THAT should be it's own category!) I received what really was computer consulting advice as I had data integrity problems that didn't stem from this product. I do advise that you should carefully read the documentation -- don't just "do" this, or you could really muck things up. I do recommend using Paul B.'s "Import / Export X" to a) verify your Entourage's data integrity (especially high-ascii chars that cause problems with Address Book) and b) create a backup of your contact info.

These scripts have helped me a great deal and the creator Paul Berkowitz has been very helpful in support for any issues I have had.
With that said I am reciveing this code no matter what I do in Panther.
Can't cotinue <<event
????az15>>
So, I tried using the importation script from within Address Book "script menu->import address-> Entourage and had very positive results.
I have over 1000 contacts and they all imported with correct formatting.
Until an update to Sync Entourage appears as I am sure it will any day, maybe this is a safe alternative to get your address book rolling into an iApp and away from Office Suite FOREVER!!!

If your preferred email client is Entourage then you owe it to yourself to download this. Any criticisms of Sync Entourage-Address Book should be taken with the understanding that this utility is bound by limitations inherent to Entourage, Address Book and AppleScript. It does exactly what it claims to do and does it well. The author is also very responsive to bug reports and suggestions. There is definitely the hope that this software will no longer be necessary with future versions of Microsoft Office, but until then it is an essential productivity tool.
Nice idea, but...

Great idea, but a poor implementation. The "ReadMe" files goes on for pages and pages while the author suggests dozens of different scripts which need to be run, ought to be run, or are an option to run, or maybe not, all depending on piles of different options. Why can't they be consolidated into a GUI front-end? This app is hopelessly confusing, and even dangerious if one chooses the wrong script or the wrong option. Backup all your data first, and let the user beware!

what were they thinking? how is this app useful for someone with more than 30 contacts? OS X does not need AddressBk - It needs an modern version of NOW UPTODATE / NOW CONTACT built in.

Isn't this basically the same thing that Apple gives us as an Applescript Example Mail Script for FREE? Allthough it's one way...
This script is intended for users wishing to import their addresses from
Entourage, Outlook Express, Eudora, or Palm Desktop into Mail.
The Entourage and Outlook Express importers have the option of importing
directly from the application (if you have it on your computer) or importing
a text file that has been exported from either of these applications. If you
choose the direct import option, more of your data (like groups and categories)
will be preserved.

I can "sync" 50 items by hand. I would like a demo that will give me a good idea how my entire contact list will be handled, and how long this process will take. No sale.
One-way my eye.

Impressive Girth
A larger database (1600 contacts) literally takes HOURS to import, hogging processor speed all the while. Despite the annoying ten steps one has to go through to simply adjust preferences to one-way syncing, Entourage managed to ruin several contacts at random in address book which in turn screwed up my palm phone's ability to dial from memory. Gah*censored*.
