Mac Messenger ReviewDecent - Version: 3.5.4, 2/22/2008 09:50AM PST

VictoTronics
For simple messaging this one works fine, but there are a bunch of small annoyances. Sorting contacts makes no sense. Chat windows open small and on top of the contacts list, no matter how often I drag and resize them. Like most (all?) other chat programs it has no clue what to do with changes in connectivity. Close your laptop, open it on another network, and you have to reconnect.

Mac Messenger Reviewnot worth the effort - Version: 3.5.4, 4/28/2006 01:45PM PST

ChaoticSolutions
Aside from the usual lack of features when compared to the Windows version, I have other complaints. The main problem with the messenger is the fact that connections are unstable. "The following message could not be delivered:" is all too common of a response on mine. Important things don't get sent and I spend my time repeating myself. Sometimes you even get signed off completely. I think this happens to everyone, whether on Mac OS or Windows. It drops. For the size of the company and user base, the server quality should be better.

Alternative messengers are the way to go. You still get a few connection blips here and there, but not as many as with the official MS version.
