Product Description:

When an application tries to establish a network connection, Little Snitch intercepts the attempt and brings up an alert panel, telling you all the connection details including the name of the application, which initiated the connection. You either choose to allow the connection, to deny it or to add a permanent rule for future similar connections.

Little Snitch Highlights
  • Prevents applications from "phoning home".
  • Protects you from trojans, worms, and other network parasites.
  • Shows which applications send information over the internet.
  • Provides a higher level of security for the paranoid.

What's new in this version:

  • Redesign of the Little Snitch alert panel
  • New temporary rules
These rules are valid until you quit the application associated with this rule
  • New alert panel timeout
After a configurable timeout the alert panel is confirmed automatically. Useful if the panel is hidden by a full screen application or inaccessible for any other reason
  • More reliable "local network" detection on systems with a dynamic IP-address (ADSL-modem, Airport, PPP)

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3
  • Mac OS X 10.2

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.2 or higher

When new connections are asked for it takes minutes for the rule to take effect and the allow changes padlock keeps locking itself after being unlocked. This is the first time I've had trouble with this application ever. Mac Pro 10.6.1 10Gb RAM

Little Snitch ReviewStill not functioning properly in Leopard - Version: 2.2, 9/28/2009 04:33PM PST

This is still not functioning properly in Leopard (10.5.8). Will not register Quicken 2007 as an application?
