Product Description:

A firewall protects your computer against unwanted guests from the Internet. But who protects your private data from being sent out? Little Snitch does!

Little Snitch informs you whenever a program attempts to establish an outgoing Internet connection. You can then choose to allow or deny this connection, or define a rule how to handle similar, future connection attempts. This reliably prevents private data from being sent out without your knowledge. Little Snitch runs inconspicuously in the background and it can also detect network related activity of viruses, trojans and other malware.

What's new in this version:

  • It's now possible to prevent applications from showing up in Network Monitor. Create a new rule for the corresponding application and select “Don’t show in Network Monitorâ€? as the rule's action. If the application already shows up in Network Monitor, you can also select “Don’t Show in Network Monitorâ€? from the application's contextual menu.
  • New preference setting to mark rules that have been created via connection alert as unapproved.
Improved Network Monitor
  • “Recent Connectionsâ€? renamed to “Connection Historyâ€?.
  • The entire Connection History can be now copied to the clipboard.
  • New contextual menu for selected application (right-click the application icon).
  • New contextual menu for items in the Connection History.
  • Improved performance, especially in situations with many simultaneous connections (like Torrent downloads or Skype).
  • Reduced memory footprint.
Other Improvements and Bug Fixes
  • Improved compatibility with Front Row and Screen Saver.
  • Improved support for fullscreen applications. Automatically generated deny rules will show up as unapproved disabled rules in Little Snitch Configuration.
  • Fixed an issue causing a kernel panic.
  • Fixed a number of issues in Installer.
  • Improved overall stability.

When new connections are asked for it takes minutes for the rule to take effect and the allow changes padlock keeps locking itself after being unlocked. This is the first time I've had trouble with this application ever. Mac Pro 10.6.1 10Gb RAM

Little Snitch ReviewStill not functioning properly in Leopard - Version: 2.2, 9/28/2009 04:33PM PST

This is still not functioning properly in Leopard (10.5.8). Will not register Quicken 2007 as an application?
