Emagic Audiowerk CoreAudio driver ReviewCauses Kernel panics..... - Version: 1.0, 12/26/2003 11:39AM PST

sminds
In my experience, the sound recording and playback both work fine with the Audiowerk2 card under OS X. But what I cannot tolerate is the freezing of the computer and/or kernel panics. KP's would occur within an hour or two of starting up Spark LE Plus. Freezes would occur overnight when left unattended. I spent at least a month trying to pin down what was causing my G4 (sawtooth model) to freeze or go into a panic. All hardware tested fine and the problem went away when I pulled out the card.

a year, the driver does not work on V1 Chip. Major clipping occurs all the time. Emagic has said that "from the technical point of view - not possible to make that release version of the Audiowerk compatible to OS X". Contact the so called programmer [ web@markus-fritze.de ] for more info.....

after a long term trial (Dec 2002 - March 2003): No glitches as described by other users. Audiowerk is running within my MDD tower 1G dual G4. Yet not any approvement on availability of supporting sourround software.
