HP designjet 10ps/20ps Reviewworks fine now - Version: updates, 10/31/2003 02:50AM PST

I just upgraded to Panther and installed the new Rip update for OS X. Works fine now. I dumped Classic, and the Rip starts up in Panther and runs with no problems at all. Strange that HP Support told me that the RIP would not run under Panther. The print quality is superb, given that regulary calibrations are done and environmental influences are kept at an equal level.

THIS PRINTER! ...1. The support even for the seller is poor: no answering calls on simple questions ...2. The homepage is a mess: you won't find a driver or two times the same side ...3. There is still no driver working with Jaguar ... I gave my designjet 10ps back because it didn't work with OS X 10.2 (after 6 weeks and three times assurance) and that was a condition. ... The seller said angry: "maybe they will learn it like this!"

    HP designjet 10ps/20ps CommentaryI use a… - Version: updates, 12/19/2002 12:39PM PST

HP cp1700 printer over ethernet and had been frustrated with it until gimp-print came along (http://www.versiontracker.com/moreinfo.fcgi?id=15970&db=mac). If used with the ghostscript rip it makes a real postscript printer out of the cp1700. There are plenty of drivers for other models. Give it a try it can't be worse than the HP proposition...
