I use this with my iSight. My kids and I use it quite a bit, and they actually control the snapping of the picture. They really enjoy the results with their Lego models and dolls and such. Great support, good documentation and feature set. No regrets, except that I don't get to use it as much as I like.
Best stop-motion app

A lot has happened since the last review here. Time lapse works as a charm. I wouldn't want to use any other app for doing StopMotion. Check 'Bloody Snow' at http://homepage.mac.com/macnavi/index.html to see what you can do with this great app!
I've been using iStopmotion from the start and the greatest thing about this app is that the developers really listen to requests and feedback. Really any wish I had for the app has been "granted", so feels like it is an app specially made for me.

this pretty much kicks ass... no probs so far at all. can't complian about features considering the price tag which is free for the lite ver.. definately give more usefulness to my digital camcorder and this is the stuff i had hoped to be able to do with it. keep it up!

have been looking for something like this that will let me use my mac for stop shot animation. Works fine with my powerbook g4 and my sony handycam, but the program crashed when the camera shut off and I tried to capture a frame. One feature I would love to see would be a timer on the frame capture so time lapse photography would be easier. Keep up the good work!

slick time-lapse function in it, and I'll buy it. having to jump back and forth to the mouse or keyboard each time I want to shoot is sucky... No offense. I love the clean brushed interface. Nice work other than the lack of what I consider to be an essential feature. I want to be able to shoot either 1 frame a second, minute, or hour... and everything in between. That way this can be used for both time-lapse photography, and quick stop motion as in: make a quick adjustment, while counting to ten... pull hands out of frame... click! Make another change... count to ten... pull hands out of frame... click! etc that sort of thing... Add that feature, and I'll buy it. I'll promote it for free on my site too... good stuff otherwise
Just tried it…

out. It crashed once when I tried "Present Movie" to see what I had done so far and lost all frames to that point. Re-did my work, saving frequently, and then viewed in Quicktime. It worked just fine. iMac 800 G4.

with my 867 Powermac and Sony DCR-TRV340. Paid for the licence because, 1) I'm very impressed that someone wrote this. 2) This was the missing link. Now my at home studio is complete for all kinds of animation.
