Formac studio tvr Reviewwhy release an app 7 months old? - Version: 3.6.2, 11/15/2008 01:05PM PST

This was released in April 2008. I think that energy should be spent in developing NEW and improved versions. Not releasing old stuff again.

Formac studio tvr CommentaryFormac Sucks - Version: 3.6.2, 11/15/2008 10:49AM PST

Formac has the worst customer support I have ever experienced.
I would not recommend any of their products because of this.

I bought this product along with my first mac(powerbook g4) in 2003, so i didnt know squat. Ive used the thing maybe a dozen times so i felt like it was 300 bucks well WASTED! So heres the deal, We all know support sucks, and if you ever owned a tivo this thing is pure torture, but Ive found (albeit three years later) one redeeming quality. I dont have a tv in my office and i have a spare tivo that i always wanted to hook up to my computer. Tivo, for some reason, "seems" to not want people doing this. With this device, hooking tivo up to your mac is simply common sense (dont know why i didnt think of it sooner). Usiing composite (red, white, yellow) plugs into the OUTPUT of TIVO and into the INPUT of STUDIO TVR, then simply connect TVR via firewire to your MAC. Make sure you set your formac or VIDI software's output to composite (U can use s-video too!) and your all set. Tivo remote in hand, of course!!
I ONLY RECOMMEND THIS TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE TIVO, ALSO, ALREADY OWN STUDIO TVR AND FIND IT COLLECTING DUST...OTHERWISE GET EYE-TV, TRUST ME!!!
