EIMS, there are really only 3 options: (1) EIMS' built-in autoreply feature (2) AutoShare (3) this new Auto Reply plug-in. We have been using #1 and #2 for about 8 years now. Problem with #1 is that it has caused mail loops for several of our users because it sends out an autoreply for each and every message received. Problem with #2 is that it isn't reliable - often the autoreply message is garbled or completely missing and the author, Mikael Hansen, isn't supporting AutoShare anymore. #3 is brand new and works well and reliably: Only 1 autoreply is sent out per sender and once you set the autoreply, you can forget about it since you can set the start and end date (and times). With #1 and #2 you have to use EIMS Admin to enable and disable the autoreply during the times required by your users. Without a doubt, MCF's Auto Reply plugin is the best solution. Sure, it's not free but in my opinion easily worth the $50. Also, Auto Reply plugin's author, Farokh Irani, is the most receptive and responsive developer I have ever come across. And because of that, I know that Auto Reply will only get better - and fast (MCF's SimpleText Filter is proof of that).
TOO EXPENSIVE! Will…
