SPSS ReviewBroken special characters - Version: 16.0.1.3, 4/11/2008 10:09AM PST

swisscarnage
I use SPSS on Macs since version 10. When sharing files on OS X and Windows, special characters change because of some charset problem. This affects the label text, so it's just an annoyance. Now I've updated to SPSS 16 and the broken umlauts greet me on the splash screen too. This software isn't made with much attention to detail.

SPSS Usage TipIntel compatibility fixed in v.16 - Version: 16.0, 11/18/2007 07:52AM PST

insecure
SPSS now runs natively (and, according to them, correctly) on Intel and PowerPC macs both. It's also been completely rewritten, and many of its more bizarre idiosyncracies are remedied. I'd recommend v.16.
