A-Dock X CommentaryExcellent dock app - Version: 1.5, 10/2/2008 09:34PM PST

This is a great little app, offering far more customization and flexibility than Apple's dock. Unless you're absolutely dedicated to stacks, this is a better way to go.

A-Dock X ReviewWhat a brilliant little app that brings back what Leopard removed - Version: 1.4.7b3, 12/3/2007 08:36AM PST

The first shock many Leopard (10.5) installers got was seeing that the Dock's hierarchical view was gone. The second was that it removed custom icons in folders placed in the Dock.

Well, this A-Dock brings both back. Easy functionality, cheap, and does just what it needs to. Oh, and it allows you to place a trashcan on the lower right corner of your screen, just like the OS9 days.

Highly recommended. Runs perfectly on 10.5.1.

One note: the developer's website puts a lot of focus on A-Dock's ability to have unique backgrounds. Well, you can completely turn those off so that there's no background and no border, which is how I prefer.

A-Dock X ReviewLooks like Mac OS 10.5.1 fixed the problem - Version: 1.4.7b3, 11/17/2007 02:40PM PST

A-Dock now works fine. I've only had one crash but other wise it's working fine. Must have been something they fixed in the recent Mac OS update.

A-Dock X ReviewStill doesn't work right - Version: 1.4.7b3, 11/7/2007 03:27PM PST

MacOO7
It launches ok and quits ok in auto hide mode but you only see the icons once. When it hides and then reappears at mouse over all you see is a white rectangular strip. If you leave it to not auto hide the icons show fine but when you quit an application you've launched A-Dock disappears and has to be quit from Apples Activity Monitor. Sorry but it's back to the drawing board I think.

A-Dock X CommentaryMaybe the Rescue for the Leopard Dock desaster.... - Version: 1.4.7b2, 11/1/2007 12:55AM PST

I just hope the Developer compiles Adock for 10.5.
When I buy new Apple Hardware again (?) I will be forced to use the buggy 10.5 / Leopard Release and I hope ADock gives at least a Solution for the Dock Desaster...

A-Dock X CommentaryNot working properly with 10.5 - Version: 1.4.7b2, 10/26/2007 10:54PM PST

If you have it set for auto hide when it reappears during a mouse over all you get is a white bar. If you leave it up all items show but when you click on something a small white square pops up at the bottom of the bar and does not disappear. Hope this is fixed soon if possible. If not it was a good little application while it lasted.

... and has been so for years.

I'm surrprised Apple hasn't "Watsoned" the product by now.

I cannot speak highly enough of Jerome's work with A-Dock. I paid for it back in the OS 9 days, and I gladly paid for it again when the OS X version arrived. Fantastic work from an incredibly responsive developer. Bravo!
