Product Description:

The ScanExpert v3.8.0X Application is compatible with the iMac, G3 & G4 systems with built-in USB ports. The ScanExpert v3.8.0X Application is for the CanoScan scanners N650U/N656U/N1220U running on Mac OS X v10.1.3 or higher in "Native Mode". This self-extracting application installer assists the user with a guided installation procedure through an intuitive interface. Once the file has UnStuffed, double-click ScanExpert_v380X to begin installation. (Note: Adobe Photoshop 7.0 for Mac OS X or Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 for Mac OS X must be installed prior to installing ScanExpert v3.8.0X for the CanoScan N650U/N656U/N1220U scanners)

There is now a Tiger compatible verion of the PlugIn at Canon USA. (V 3.8.1)

Tiger Plugin for Canoscan N1220U

I've been using version 3.8 with Panther (OS X 10.3.2) and have been happy with its performance as a plug-in for Adobe Photosop Elemenets 2.0.2, ArcSoft PhotoStudio 4 (that was a free download for .Mac users, in case you're wondering why I have it) and Graphic Convertor 4.6

I have a CanoScan N1220u.

The results are good. I recommend turning on the ColorSync preference in the Preferences menu that you see after choosing Acquire in your choice of image-manipulation software.

Reinstalled for Panther and everything works - Version: 3.8, 12/30/2003 08:10PM PST

I was getting the same error as wompedy but I reinstalled the
drivers for both Elements and Graphic Coverter and it works for
both programs again
