Product Description:

Invisible Prefs finds files in the preferences folder that are specially hidden from you, some developers may hide "spyware" data here, or keep tabs on what you do. Many key loggers dump their information in the preferences folder, so you have a right to know what is hiding where! After all, its YOUR computer!

There will be 4 Betas before 1.0 is released, this program will remain free, after the beta period. Right now its limited to finding prefs that are invisible and displays their name, size and date modified and gives you the option to make them visible. I will add additional functionality later on down the road.

Next beta will have: A better Icon, more functions, better layout.

What's new in this version:

  • New Features added
    • Show Data Fork
    • Show Path
    • Others
  • Now checks in folders for files, not just in the prefs folder root
  • New Icon

Invisible Prefs CommentaryConfusing application icon... - Version: 1.0b3, 11/10/2003 01:38AM PST

Mark Douma
Should tilt (rotate slightly to the left) the icon to make it look like an application rather than a document. And/or eliminate the curl-over on the top-right corner which is used to signify a document file.

Now I know most users are smart enough to figure out that this is an application and not a document, but this is basic Aqua Human Interface Guidelines stuff here...

Invisible Prefs CommentaryThe thing about… - Version: 1.0b1, 12/14/2002 10:06AM PST

X-ified
TinkerTool, though, is that you have to make ALL invisible files appear. With this, you can just pick the one you want, and you don't have to log out/restart to see it.

is kinda impossible. just another hint: tinkertool can make all invisible files in os x visible too. u can even toggle their visibility and it's free like this tool (but offers much more features).
