iSparx CommentaryNot What I Hoped For - Version: 1.4, 4/17/2005 09:33AM PST

This product is probably useful for someone who needs to retrieve a phone number or an email address. I was hoping it would display the entire contents of the Address Book and preserve its content, layout and features, which iSparx does not. Missing are Notes and Photo where my workgroup stores data we rely on daily. iSparx will not find a company vCard which does not have a personal contact. Many of our Vcards are for companies without personal contacts. What I really want is a way to share the entire Address Book that preserves its look, format, functions and complete contents.

but required a few relanches of the app before the sharing seem to show on the other computer. However, what I really would like to have would be a way to both view AND edit a central address book database within the Addressbook application. That would be sooo nice!

r i k - - , What I want is to have what this program does, except on the web! Which is to post my Address Book online and allow my friends to access it. .Mac doesn't do this currently, it only lets ME use it. I "could" give my friends my .Mac account password, so they could login and check the Address Book contacts, but that doesn't go well with me.

work ? If you are running a firewall, be sure to let through the ports from 5656 to 5666 for IP connection between the Clients. this can be done with the System Preferences in the "Sharing"-Preference. Click the Firewall-Tabsheet and add a new item. Name it "iSparx" and enter this for the ports: "5656-5666".

someone would make a program that could easily sync address book contacts to a web site/page (iDisk) and possibly password protect the page. So that we can share contacts on a web page,

what I (and I'm sure many others) have been looking for since the release of 10.2 .. with this and iWebCal (for example) a small network can share their calendars and address books easily. Excellent.
