MP3 Dock doesn't replace iTunes. What I find it useful for is selectively listening to my music folders (artist, genre, etc.) in my massive music collection particularly as I download new tunes. I then add music files I think are worthy to the iTunes Library to control the glut that the Library already is.
I paid for MP3 Dock at 1.0 but seeing this excellent app free is awesome and gracious. It has many features so look closely at the Guide. It works well in Tiger.
My requests to be a 5-star rating:
• Add AAC compatability
• A better way to see what's playing than the tiny type under the dock icon.

and I like it. For a 1.0 release it seems solid, and hopefully there will be some features for following updates, like bigger artist and album text. Different skins would be nice too.

only showing up about 1 in 20 times (I click and get "Application is not responding") and the song name is way too small to be useful without magnification. I like the concept but, it's not working for me at the moment.

application but no info on this update whatsoever. I guess that the update is because he took it out of "beta". I finally was able to pay for it. I see no reason to have it as a "log in" item as per the user guide unles the users who haven't paid for it enjoy seeing a nag window everytime they start up or restart their mac. One star off for no update information other than that it is a convenient and useful application.
Small, convenient, out of the way, easy to use.
