This software simply will not work no matter what your OS and no matter whatever else you have. The developer has simply given up on this project, and it would be pointless to attempt to use it. Attempting to download this file would be as useful as jamming a red hot fire poker through your eye. To put it simply... don't waste your time.

Just downloaded it. Opens an information window and a download browser, then crashes within about 2 seconds after launching. I'm using Mac OS 10.3.8.

Probably one of the worst pieces of crapware ever released for OSX, who's authors are entirely dependent on selling your email address to spammers for a revenue source.

About the best filesharing app I've seen so far is LimeWire (guaranteed spyware free!!).

Direct Connect CommentaryOpens Safari all of a sudden - Version: 1.1.0, 8/17/2004 04:57PM PST

Great application, but spooky: All of a sudden Safari opens by itself and this address appears in the address bar:

http://www.neo-modus.com/MacPop.php

...and then the window closes. Safari stays open.

What's this???

Direct Connect Troubleshooting ReportOS X 10.35 incompatibile? - Version: 1.1.0, 8/16/2004 04:43AM PST

I have been using Direct Connect happily until I recently upgraded my OS X to the new 10.35...
everything else seems to run smoothly, at first, but i can't seem to DL anything from my favourite hub... "waiting" is all I can do.

i can log on, search, all in active mode like before upgrading OS... but i just sit there "waiting" every DL...

Anyone else have these issues... I have tried other DC++ clients but they seem worse.

Direct Connect ReviewIf this is the best there is... - Version: 1.1.0, 8/11/2004 02:59PM PST

it's a sorry state of affairs indeed. On OS 10.3, changing preferences causes crashes 3/4 of the time. Takes 2 minutes to boot (I suppose reading my 40 gb share). Worst of all, almost all servers won't recognize, since the client ID is not presented or recognized. Only about 1/3 of servers will not auto-disconnect.

Look out for a Mac DC++ in alpha. I hope that gives us a chance to explore the DC universe.

Direct Connect ReviewHas a BIG bug - Version: 1.1.0, 6/3/2004 12:33PM PST

It wont download any title with an apostrophy with a space afterwards, in it. Therefore, if the title has words like "Rockin' " , "Rollin' " or any other contraction, you wont be able to download it. It also cant download titles with foreign marks in it like umlauts, tildes and accents. I sure wish that they would fix this, It's been way too long between updates. If it wasnt for this bug, this would be a pretty serviceable software.Still, is is the best available for the MAC. I would have to recommend it over the other available app, but not highly/

Direct Connect Troubleshooting Reportdoesn't load. - Version: 1.1.0, 3/3/2004 11:10PM PST

I'm running 10.3 and this thing just bounces for a bit, than refuses to show a screen. My CPU is maxed out and it just sits there, not responding. Does anyone know how to fix this? What files to delete to make it work again?
