Product Description:

The best and most user friendly MPEG-4 Encoder for Mac is back. In its new design, the program follows the principles of the iLife products of Apple. DivXRay generates high-quality MAC, PC and DVD player compatible MPEG4 movies in a AVI format in real time*. In addition, the program is able to export individual tracks in different formats. Converting movies has never been easier!

The new project management DivXRay is now equipped with a sophisticated project management. Several movies can be imported in one project. Every movie can be edited separately. Import the entire folder containing movies with just one mouse click. The project can be saved in a file at any time and reloaded at a later time. DivXRay processes several import files masked "on the fly". If you wish to import a DVD movie which is divided in 5 files, the DivXRay works as if only one file existed. You will never want to miss this new project management for all of your plans.

The new time bar The new time bar is the core of all editing functions of a movie using DivXRay. All tracks contained in a movie will be represented on the time bar and can be exported individually in other audio and video formats. Do you have, for example, a concert DVD that you would like to load to your iPod as a MP3? No problem. Mark every start of a title using the split function. Subsequently, export the selected audio track as a MP3. Then you can load the titles in your iTunes to your iPod.

Cutting and splitting These two functions have been combined for the first time and cannot be found in any other MPEG4 converter. Would you like to find the correct quality settings first, however not export the entire movie or would you just like to export segments of the movie, then use the DivXRay's convenient Mark-In / Mark-Out function. To use it, highlight the desired beginning and the desired end of the export with one mouse click each. Would you like to split your export to several files or media? Using you DivXRay this is easy now. You can mark all places in a movie where the export in a file should be ended and where the next file to be created should start.

Recording on CD-ROM DivXRay records movies created by you on CD/DVD-ROMs which are compatible with DVD players. The program remembers every place of every movie that you have created. Select the clips from this list and start the recording process. Record your movies with two mouse clicks and without any additional software. DivXRay writes on all common CD formats. (CD-R, CD-RW and DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R and DVD-RW)

Strong performance The DivXRay technology works in real time and faster. Based on ffmpeg, the technology offers the user a high-value video compression and a fast conversion speed. DVD movies are converted in real time and faster, according to the Mac-Power. DivXRay is optimized for multiprocessor Macs. Several tasks are processed simultaneously depending on the number of processors. If you would like to split your movies to two CDs and own a Dual-Mac, the DivXRay is able to use the complete performance of your computer and exports almost double as fast as any 1 processor machine.

DivXRay CommentaryLinks broken? - Version: 4.2, 3/20/2006 02:08PM PST

Gwyneth Llewelyn
I've evaluated DivXRay 2.6 a long time ago, and found it rather useful; in my line of work, I get some customers that provide me video material in the form of DVDs to put them online on video streams or on Websites. Some sort of conversion is required, and when QuickTime or ffmpegX fails, DivXRay usually worked quite well for me.

Now I've seen I've missed several upgrades, and I tried to get a more recent copy. Sadly, it seems that all links simply disappeared! It's not only VersionTracker's that are broken; I can't find any working link to download DivXRay either through Google or any of the many sites having Mac software...
