SharingMenu ReviewGreat! - Version: 1.2, 9/11/2004 09:22AM PST

David Gillaspy
Very useful little program. I have a few suggestions that would make the program even more useful than it already is. First, I would love it if the menu bar icon would change color (say, to yellow) if someone was logged in to your computer- maybe even change to red if someone was actively accessing a folder on your drive. Second, if it would show all the logged in users and their IPs when you clicked on the icon. Third, if it had printer sharing in the menu.

And yes, I would gladly pay for all this!

SharingMenu ReviewWorks Fine - Version: 1.1, 1/14/2004 12:04PM PST

I installed version 1 on OS X 10.2.x and it worked ever fine since then. OK, there's no Printer Sharing, but I can pass on this issue. The other Sharing services are much more important to me to switch on/off without passing trough the pref panes. Two, sorry, five thumbs up! Thank you for the good work.

userX - I am familiar with Cocoa. Apparently more so than you. Explain this: http://0x2a.no-ip.org/mt/archives/000057.html
Third-party menu extras are still possible. They just requires a bit of extra research. But the result is more than worth it. It'd be great to see the author look into this. Seeing as how there is a lot of tutorial and open source code available, it should be a fairly straightforward conversion.
