WWII Online ReviewOnce You Pop You Can't Stop - Version: 1.17.4, 11/25/2004 09:17AM PST

Although there is a steep learning curve, this game becomes very addicting. It does press my PowerMac 1.25 SP G4 with 64 MB vRAM 1.25 GB RAM but I can get 30 frames per second in open battles, and in close battles get about 10 (with 64+ players in the imediate area). So I pick my fights. The game is under constant upgrade. Like in 1.17.4 we just got the Sherman tank, and 1.17.3 gave us the Panzer 4G. The developers (20 people) do an awesome job depicting real-life models of the tanks, vehicles, aircraft, boats, and weapons of wwii and are constanly working on bringing new areas (North Africa soon) to play, and new weapons to use, and new ways to play.

WWII Online ReviewTerrible support & needs better than my g4 2x1ghz - Version: 1.16.3, 10/15/2004 03:15PM PST

I've got a G4 dual 1Ghz with 1G RAM and this game barely played. I also had a ticket open due to install issues that I solved myself after 3 days without the ticket ever being answered, it's still open! I was told by other players that the support tickets are not answered - that is utterly unforgivable considering they've taken my cash.

I'm prepared to believe that if you have a top end G5 with the best graphics card the game may be smooth, but I would advise everyone not to waste their time and money until something changes, play warbirds or something instead.

This game has great potential, but is suffering from either lack of commitment to the Mac platform, or else total underinvestment. Can I have my moeny back :) I doubt it, not worth posting a ticket about anyway.

WWII Online Reviewgood stuff - Version: 1.16.3, 9/29/2004 10:03PM PST

This is the most engrossing, disbelief-suspending games i've ever played. Hearing the Blens bombs come whistling in, the 40mm auto cannons pasting a building, your buddies running by... watching tracers and tank rounds and smoking aircraft and turrets blowing off of tanks... woo!

I can't comment on how it plays on anything but a G5, but it plays smoothly on mine as one would expect.

I've played every night a couple of hours over the past 2 weeks and have had no crashes, no need to relog or reboot, seems like pretty solid work from CRS to me. I was involved in the beta 3 years ago, too buggy then, they have me now though.
