What I´ve to say? - Version: 7.565, 8/2/2009 09:55PM PST

This peace of software donesn't support Intel-Macs. It doesn't run on Mac OSX 10.5 (and higher), it doesn't support my 'old' Scanner 3600. This scanner has now been handed to the hazardous waste. For the future I can't imagine to buy a product of this company with those crap software.
Microtek ScanWizard Pro v 7.16 - Version: 7.16, 7/1/2009 11:22AM PST

Since installing Mac OSX 10.5.1 (Leopard), Microtek ScanWizard Pro v 7.16 crashes when I open it. I cannot find a version that works with both Leopard and my ScanMaker 6700. Anyone else have the same issue?
v. 7.12 doesn't work for me - Version: 7.12, 11/11/2004 04:01PM PST

Tried v. 7.12 which is recommended for my 9800XL scanner. Get an error message -122 "Internal Error: bad request for processing module." The Read Me file talks about error message -122 appearing when used without the transparency module installed, but my transparency module is installed and fully functional. Any suggestions?

Here's what the Microtek support people say- - Version: 7.16, 10/19/2004 12:29PM PST

I just talked to two support people at Microtek, one in "advanced support". They both confirmed with me that this version 7.16 is precisely the same as the version 7.16 released last May. Neither could explain why the previous "work-around" page on their website had been taken down. This was a page recommending that Panther users try to use the older version 7.11 with various work-arounds, and promising to develop new Panther drivers in the future. This, at least, was an honest way to deal with the issue. This "new" re-release of 7.16, a version they had previously admitted was buggy (at least for users of scanners like the 4800, for which it is recommended), strikes me as either extremely dishonest or extremely incompetent.
Note also that this is exactly the same as the non-"Pro" version of ScanWizard, a page on which you can still find here on VT.

File size? - Version: 7.16, 10/7/2004 03:43PM PST

I'm even more confused: VT says file size 31.8Mb, but I'm currently downloading 53.7Mb. PLEASE Microtek tell us what the situation is with these drivers so I can advise our customers accordingly.
huh?

I'm so confused. I downloaded and installed version 7.16 months ago. As I was downloading this I I loaded up my version and sure enough it says 7.16.
My biggest complaint about this software is that it is prone to crash. Not only that, it NEVER exits correctly. After I quit the program I ALWAYS get a crash notice.
I bought a Microtek scanner because I have had great success with them in the past, and this scanner is great. It's the software that is garbage. I wonder when these people are going to get things together. I avoid scanning whenever possible because this software is so bad. and I thought it was BETTER than Umax's software! Can someone please direct me to a scanner/software that is good!
I don't even know if I should install this latest version.

Way Too Little Way Too Late!`

Microtek, my scanner went out with the trash 4 months ago after waiting for you to update these drivers. Do you really seriously think that people will wait that long without a useful scanner for you to write drivers? Good luck with any return customers after your very very poor support of the mac platform!
After using microtek scanners for years at home and at work, I purchased an Epson, at least they update their drivers for the mac once a century.

Software reason I quit - Version: 7.12, 10/4/2004 06:52AM PST

The ScanWizard software was the primary reason I abandoned my ScanMaker 4850 in favor of an Epson scanner. While the scanner itself was just a USB 1 scanner, the software itself was also doggedly slow and rather kludgey. Crashes of the twain software was not uncommon.
As a mac fan, I'm happy to see that Microtek is trying to keep up with the OS advances, but they're very slow to do so and honestly, their efforts are far behind those of Epson for OS X.

Can't use X12USL - Version: 7.12, 10/4/2004 05:17AM PST

We have an b/w G3 with an Scanmaker X12USL. I can't make it work with either SCSI or USB in 10.3.5. The scanner finder can see it when it's connected with USB, but still the rest of the software won't find it. Also, the installer doesn't mension any drivers for the X12USL, but it's mensioned here. :-/
