Product Description:

PowerRIP X is a PostScript Level 3 Compatible Print Driver for Epson Inkjet Printers.

PowerRIP X provides the additional controls and features needed by the graphic arts professional. PowerRIP X makes use of the CUPS printing architecture and the printer sharing built into Apple's OSX 10.2. The combination of iProof's custom ICC profiles and printer specific PPDs allows you to print high quality images and smooth crisp type to over 55 Epson color ink jet printers. The correct color profiles are also AUTOMATICALLY selected at print time, when selecting the media type and resolution. It is now easier than ever with Apple's OSX and PowerRIP X to create color accurate prints from your Epson inkjet printer. PowerRIP X Supported Printers

What's new in this version:

Patch for 7.52 has better spot color reproduction and basic instructions to add most printers on OSX 10.5. The color from the Epson Stylus Photo 1400 native driver is greatly enhanced on 10.5 by PowerRIP X

Version 8 does not print spot colors correctly. Horrible tech support to resolve problem. Have been basically ignored for all emails and voicemails left with tech support. Buy something else!

I have found this product to be more trouble than necessary with Adobe's CS3, and my HP printer. Has difficulty with simple postscript files. Tech support has been unable to solve printing. Not a viable RIP solution.

Site says: "Version 8 Will not validate with a Version 5 Version 6 or Version 7 Product ID Code.
See special pricing for existing PowerRIP users."
Yet there are no links to prices or upgrades from prior versions may well invalidate your existing working software!
