Straightforward and intuitive. Excellent help for the occasional question. Quicken 2007 for Mac locked up, corrupted itself, destroyed files and backup and refused to open. I replaced it with CheckBook which satisfies all my simple needs.
Very impressed

I bought CheckBook a few days ago having played with it for while. I haven't been disappointed. I like the way it sets out to do a few things well. It has a nice interface and it's very easy to use. Previously I had tried both iBank (which I never managed to get to work for me) and MoneyDance (which did what I needed but whose interface was unattractive and a bit clunky – too many clicks involved in, say, importing the latest transactions from my bank account). Overall, then, a big thumbs up for CheckBook.
Great!

I like this program! It's quick and easy. It's almost exactly what I wanted (see note at end), ESPECIALLY now that I can schedule payments! The support is WONDERFUL! It's almost as if someone is sitting at the computer waiting for requests for help to arrive - it has been that quick! I commend the company, and the people working on this program. Now.... as I've requested from Splasm... if only there were a Palm compatible component to this program!! Keep up the great work! I HIGHLY recommend it as a quick and easy program. If you want learning curves etc, spend a lot more money on the big boys' programs.
Highly Recommended

For anyone looking for a simple personal finance app, this is a great choice. I was fed up with Quicken. It lacks Mac support and is buggy. Plus it has way more features than I need. CheckBook is missing a few features like scheduled transactions and transfers between accounts, but these are forthcoming in version 1.2 according to the web site. It's been rock solid as well. The developers are VERY responsive to feedback and new feature requests. I emailed them a few and they responded the next day not with a generic thank you, but rather specifically addressed my requests. Definitely worth a mere $15 if you want a simple personal finance app.

after playing with it for about 30 minutes. I use accounting software for my business but this is all I need and want for my personal accounts. Works fine with bank and credit card accounts. Yes, transfer would be nice, but for now I'm OK with debiting one account and crediting another. Also, auto-save is nice but I'd like to be able to export my accounts outside of the app for peace of mind.
Nice start, but…

until one is able to transfer between accounts it is rather limited for me, and I would suspect others too.

1.1. It looks sharp and a great jaguar checkbook application. I wish the to/from and description would be remembered within the program so you would not have to type each time for monthly payments or deposits. But, I do like it. Great Job!

something here? Is there a PAYEE column? Both Import and Export functions are of interest. Text sizing is needed, too. Nice looking, simple application.

QIF support isn't on their "upcoming features" list. Too bad...
