Product Description:

"Where does all my money go?" you've asked yourself. You've written it down in your paper check register but it can't sort and categorize your transactions and it will never balance itself. You've tried medieval torture devices like Quicken but they're so full of features you'll never use that it's actually painful just to enter the raw data. What you really need is a friendly personal finance tool that gets the basics just right and keeps things simple. That's where we come in. Introducing CheckBook 2, the powerfully simple personal finance manager.

Features Include:
  • Friendly, single-window interface
  • QuickFilter, an advanced search field that turns "those other search fields" on their ear
  • Scheduled Entries, the easy way to manage your monthly bills
  • Account Summaries, customized reports to help you visualize where your money came from and where it's going
  • Categories, giving you the power to group your transactions as you see fit for more accurate reporting
  • Splits, with support for categories in each line item
  • Transfers between accounts
  • Printing that works
  • OFX, QIF and CSV/Text import
  • Multiple currency support
  • And more!

New Features:
  • Support for Apple's VoiceOver assistive technology

  • Resolves a major performance issue when closing Entry sheets or switching to CheckBook from other applications
  • OFX import works for non-Unicode and non-UTF-8 statement files
  • Text export will produce correct running balances when a Filter is in use
  • Import does the right thing when it finds multiple negative symbols in amounts
  • To/From Filter will work properly in Account Summaries
  • CheckBook 1.x upgrade assistant now converts currency rates when another base currency is selected

CheckBook CommentaryBetter than Quicken 2007 - Version: 1.8.1, 12/23/2007 02:44PM PST

Straightforward and intuitive. Excellent help for the occasional question. Quicken 2007 for Mac locked up, corrupted itself, destroyed files and backup and refused to open. I replaced it with CheckBook which satisfies all my simple needs.

I bought CheckBook a few days ago having played with it for while. I haven't been disappointed. I like the way it sets out to do a few things well. It has a nice interface and it's very easy to use. Previously I had tried both iBank (which I never managed to get to work for me) and MoneyDance (which did what I needed but whose interface was unattractive and a bit clunky – too many clicks involved in, say, importing the latest transactions from my bank account). Overall, then, a big thumbs up for CheckBook.

CheckBook ReviewGreat! - Version: 1.2, 5/3/2004 07:21AM PST

I like this program! It's quick and easy. It's almost exactly what I wanted (see note at end), ESPECIALLY now that I can schedule payments! The support is WONDERFUL! It's almost as if someone is sitting at the computer waiting for requests for help to arrive - it has been that quick! I commend the company, and the people working on this program. Now.... as I've requested from Splasm... if only there were a Palm compatible component to this program!! Keep up the great work! I HIGHLY recommend it as a quick and easy program. If you want learning curves etc, spend a lot more money on the big boys' programs.
