Seems to have resolved a longstanding issue which caused burns to abort when using slideshows with transitions between the individual images. No problem installing the update.

Try repairing your permissions using Disk Utility. Bet that'll fix it.

DVD studio pro 2 will not install on my Powerbook 17 inch (rev A) and this build number. Not sure why. I click the installer and it loads, checks what scripts it needs to run, has me click on the agreement, then as its trying to find the amount of space on the disks, the installer quits back to the Finder, without a message saying "the application quit." I cleared 20 gb of space for the installation but it did not want to work. Installing the packages individually seems to work, but there's still no joy. DVD Studio Pro installs if I install it with the individual installer, but when launched, it starts to load, does a few bounces in the dock, then quits with no explanation. I upgraded to 2.0.5 using the Software Update control panel, but it does the same thing. For the record, my PBG417 has a Superdrive, so that should not be the cause. I am able to burn DVD-Rs too. Sadly, the inability to get this program working may cause a huge delay in my work, as I am leaving on a business trip and planned to do my work on the road. :(
Hope you can help.

DV Fix, nice point about downloading the installer through software update, but some are claiming Software Update is failing to show an update for DVD Studio Pro which would not allow them the option to download the installer. Oops.
DVD Studio Pro 2.0.5 previous requirements - Version: 2.0.5, 3/16/2004 07:32AM PST

Am I correct that this update version will update any previous iteration of Studio Pro 2? It does not say what the requirements are. I can just toss 2.0.4, 2.0.3, 2.0.2, etc.?
Thanks if anyone knows.

Now, when I submit my AppleID and registered FCSP serial number, I get a message stating that I have already downloaded the latest version of DVD Studio Pro. When in fact, I have not.
The update does show up in my Software Updates control panel, but I prefer to download the standalone updater should I need to reinstall in the future.
Come on, Apple. Get with the program. What knumb-nuts thought of this new policy that is preventing licensed, registered owners like me from downloading the updates we're entitled to?
